Dynamaster (In progress)
Sort of inspired by Bill Frisell’s Tele, Dynasonics and particularly T armonds are my favorite pickups in the world. Obviously not yet finished (I bought the neck T armond used, still waiting on tv to send the second one...) I need to plug the old pickguard holes, install the second pickup and get some knobs. Parts are:
Musikraft neck: Bought used, it doesn't look "reliced" but the finish seems to be so thin that it's wearing straight through on most of the neck. I'm not the biggest fan of that kind of thing, but musikraft makes very, very nice necks and the fretwork is easily on par with fender's american guitars.
Body off of a 60th anniversary mexican JM
T armonds, as mentioned before
And a pickguard from decoboom who I'll definitely be using in the future if I need more custom guards. For a special order, it was sent out in just a couple of days.
First time I've pieced together a guitar and I think it's turning out very nice. Still not sure if I made the right decision with a mint pickguard, though.
And it might just be because my soldering iron is a complete piece of shit, but I applaud the patience of those that wire their guitars from scratch all the time.

Looks great to me, keep the mint. I share your enthusiasm for T-Armonds, well done.

Looks really good. I like the mint PG on it. It's a subtle difference that makes it a bit more interesting. I'd probably put a couple black witch hat knobs on it to go with those pickups.

Looks great. What’s the trem arm from?
I didn’t buy a proper stationary solder iron until a couple years ago & now it’s a fun & enjoyable experience. If your tip is old & not transfering heat very well then sanding the tip can help bring it back to life.

You do need a decent soldering iron to properly solder to the back of a pot, in my experience. The old 35W arson devices I used to use wouldn't be able to heat it up properly.
Anyways nice work! I love maple JMs.

Re: Dynamaster (In progress)
Thanks everyone. I really do need a new soldering iron, only one very tiny spot on mine gives off enough heat to actually melt solder, it's a huge pain in the ass. I'll give the sandpaper a go, but I think it might be time to upgrade into something that cost more than $8.
My second T armond comes in monday, very excited as the dynasonic middle position is amazing and half the reason to play the pickups at all.

Good work Cameron- looks like a great project.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Thanks, Larry. Also, I forgot to answer the question about the trem arm: It came with the body, so I assume that it's stock. It does look rather big in comparison to a regular jazzmaster arm, though.

A JM with T-Armonds will be very cool indeed. Looks nice and clean without the rhythm circuit clutter too.
