Jaguar Series Mod
Does anyone have a wiring diagram to run my american series jaguar in series while retaining the strangle switch and rhythm circuit?
If I recall correctly the Japanese models use DPDT switches and the AVRI's do not. Is it possible to make this mod with my stock AVRI switches?
Essentially like the Japanese jaguar series mod that allows for the pickups to run in series when both pickup selectors are off?

Re: Jaguar Series Mod
Can you check what you've got? I can help with a schematic for the mod, but you'll need at least a DPDT switch for the mod to work. A SPST or SPDT switch won't work for series.

I was under the impression USA Jaguars had a different type of switch - vintage models perhaps?
Can you guys tell just by looking?

I was basing it off of this;
Taking a closer look at my own switch plate - it looks like I'm going to have to get new switches to complete the mod.

You're right .. so not good news. They look like DPDTs that have had one set (side) of 3 terminals removed - so functionally SPDT. You can't tell that from the Fender wiring doc I linked.
You need something like this .. that has 6 tabs for DPDT.

The good news though is that you only have to change the switch. A DPDT slider switch will fit right in there without any modifications. If you're wanting to keep those switches and retain the strangle function, but still get series, you may want to replace your lead circuit volume or tone pot with a push-pull. Very simple change with minimal soldering.

Interesting, I have not heard of this method. Do you have a diagram?Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 2:19 amThe good news though is that you only have to change the switch. Ideally I'd like to have a setup that has series as well as an out of phase option, but also retains the stock functions and stock look. Is this possible?

Re: Jaguar Series Mod
Honestly, phase is a thin sound and won't be a whole lot different than the strangle you've already got, but yes its it's definitely doable. Truly, with a push-pull pot on both your volume and tone of your lead circuit, you could have both phase and series.
