Shaun style guitar is ready to come my way for painting. Only thing missing in the picture is the side jack hole. :)

Gold (back painted) pickguard turned out great! I need to let it cure more before I wipe on some poly over the back to try to help protect the paint from flaking off or scratching. Turned out better than I hoped for.

Best made plans....

I gave a try at giving the edges a gold burst and did not succeed. I painted some white over it and just decided "F*#ck it" and went to the store to look at colors. I was thinking sonic blue, fiesta red, olive green and didn't find any of those. What caught my eye was some dark metallic reds. I picked up two cans figuring gold and red would be ok and went home. First coat of the dark red.

I think it will work. I just wasn't getting very excited about painting another white guitar. LOL

That’s going to look great. I knew a young woman in Atlanta way back with a ‘67 Mercury Cougar that her father had painted a dark candy apple red, and it had a pale gold plating on all the trim. It was so glorious. Every time people look at that color scheme and think Iron Man, I’m thinking of that Cougar.

That's a surprise but a good one. Nice choice, there. That with the gold PG should be stellar.

Old Cougars are awesome. A friend in high school had parents who worked on old cars. Both had their own sweet Cougar.

Iron Man works too. :) With the name cyanide as the name, I could always caption "Too many women and too many pills."
