Mastery MV Vibrato routing cavity?

Post by dren68 » Sat Feb 09, 2019 1:26 pm

I have a Mastery MV vibrato that I plan on using for a custom build, and I'm trying to figure out where to position it in relation to the bridge. Right now, I'm just laying it out in Illustrator, and I'm using a Jaguar template as a guide, but I'm wondering if I should position the top edge of the MV even with where the top edge of the Fender vibrato would be, or should I line it up where the part that holds the strings (whatever that's called) is even with where it would be on a Fender? If I do that, the angle from the bridge to the end of the strings will be the same, but that puts the trem bar back a little further, so I'm not sure what to do.

I emailed Mastery to see if they had a template for it, but I didn't get a response, so I guess I'm on my own on this one. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I’m thinking the second option is best if you’re trying to retain the same scale length and break angle that the jaguar has. If you move it up like option 1, that would change. I believe most people do option 1
