Does anyone have experience using minwax stain pens to darken fretboard wood?
Wondering if it’s safe to use, etc..
Thank You

Re: minwax stain pen / fretboard wood
If the fretboard is rosewood then use lemon oil. This will naturally darken it. From what I’ve seen on here the same can be done for pau ferro fingerboards as well.
I’ve used the Minwax pens to repair scratched commercial doors at work. It is fine for that purpose, but the pens just don’t flow that great. I wouldn’t have much faith in it for going over such a large surface. I think it’s a bad idea to put it on something that will exposed to frequent touching too.

Will go with lemon oil. Thanks!
