Warmoth Bodies

Hey all, a few questions:

How accurate are the curves on the Warmoth bodies? In the photos on their site they look a bit off. Maybe too deep.
How do the chambered bodies sound?
Are the hardware slots drilled for AVRI/American specs?

Thanks!

If you want accurate, you don't want Warmoth. Most obviously, the bridge pickup is closer to the neck than Fender JMs to accomodate a bunch of different bridge options. Also, the tummy cut is different. It's less deep. In the pic below the Warmoth body is on the left and a more traditional JM body is on the right. Also, due to the bridge pickup location difference and the desire for more bridge options, the Warmoth JM pickguard doesn't cover the bridge thimbles. I ended up getting a custom pg made for my Warmoth to make it look more traditional. That process is detailed in this thread: http://www.offsetguitars.com/forums/vie ... 03#p798103

Great, thank you. The tummy cut is what I noticed most.
Do you know which after market maker has the most accurate curves/tummy cut?

Is there any way to order a body directly from Fender? I looked around and didn't even see that option on their custom shop.
The one thing I don't like about my first build is the tummy cut seems shallow, and it makes the guitar "pop out" a bit in the belly area. I guess I need to lose a few lbs.

I think Guitar Mill's JM is close. https://guitarmill.com/guitarmill/produ ... itar-body/

Can confirm that my Warmoth JM body is on the thick and fluffy side, like a JM retaining water weight or something.

It was my first JM so I didn't notice 10 years ago when I got it, but once someone pointed it out and I compared it directly to another one the differences were clear.

Thank you, I knew I've already seen it somewhere at some point! Oh how I do love that thread!

Try USA custom guitars http://www.usacustomguitars.com/bodies/guitar/ . They claim the routing is F standard and will take those parts without modification. The body I have from them is a dead ringer for the squier JM I have ... can't speak for the rest of routs as it's a custom with a wraparound bridge and prails pickups.

Warmoth isn't big on accuracy, in general. Their Tele headstock shape sucks ass, as I was disappointed to learn after spending hundreds of dollars...

Holy Toledo, I would have figured Fender had all that standardized by now.

As compared to every one of them. I have that entire set printed out, trying to figure out how to salvage the Warmoth shape. The main issue is that the transition from the tuner side edge to the tip of the headstock is droopy. Which means there isn't wood there to allow reshaping.
