1x10 cab because I'm old
I'm building a tiny cab for a tiny amp, because I'm old now and I can't blast a 100 watt Marshall every weekend anymore.
I picked up an Orange Micro Terror a few weeks ago, which gets me a little of the Marshall roar, but at an old man volume. I didn't get the matching cab because it sounds like it's made of tin foil, and it deprives me of a chance to build something.
Pictures to follow.

I’m also old. Will you build me one too?

If you’re moving into small amps, check out the Mesa TA-15 if one comes up on the used market near you. Great Vox tones on one side and “Tweed”, “Marshall” and “Boogie” on the other. And 5w / 15w / 25w settings for each channel.

Ooh! Exciting!
I'm doing something similar. I had to get my 52 Champ serviced (becuasethe handle snapped when a kind engineer was carrying it for me) so I'm getting a switched output jack added.
Earlier this year I bought a 10 inch Jensen, 4 ohm, for pretty much the same reasons. My 20W Park (70s Marshall) combo is way too loud now I'm old and sensible. I borrowed back my dad's Workbench and he gave me his old circular saw... but at the last minute realised I was taking on another project that would sit around for a year, so in the end I bought a 1930s radio speaker cab, for which I've just cut a new baffle board.
Making your own definitely merits more brownie points, please keep us updated!

Re: 1x10 cab because I'm old
Sorry about the delay, I got sidetracked replacing the rotted out subfloor in my entryway.
I started with some 1x8 clear pine from Home Depot. Attached everything with glue and dowels so that it looks extra fancy. My corner clamps continue to be my favorite tool. I chopped off the excess dowel and sanded everything smooth while watching the price is right and matlock. i moved on to rounding off all the corners with a 1/4 inch round over bit. Just in time for Murder She Wrote
I brewed up an extra strong batch of tea, using the weird decaf stuff from work that nobody likes. Then I brushed everything with two coats of that disgusting mixture and let that fucker dry.
I then took a break, because my joints were creaky from low air pressure and those damn kids were driving too fast down the street listening to their music. SLOW DOWN! THIS IS A NEIGHBORHOOD!

Re: 1x10 cab because I'm old
I stained everything with a home made vinegar and steel wool stain, which I'm told reacts with the tannins in the wood (and the gross decaf tea) to oxidize the wood. I'm not sure what a tannin is exactly, but I know they have to potential to totally fuck up the space time continuum if they travel to 1955 with sports betting information.
The inside of the corners are braced with 1x2s, which is supposed to cut down on vibration and also gives me even spacing on the frame that I will eventually mount the speaker baffle to.
The stain came out slightly more brown than the grey I was hoping for, but it brought out some really nice reds in the pine. I do like it much better than a dye based stain. Pictures are below:
...and here's my pup sitting like a dude

Re: 1x10 cab because I'm old
After I got to this point, I went out my front door to go to work and noticed that there was a slightly larger sag than normal. I pulled up some tile, and found that the sub floor was mushy. I tried to find the edge of the rotten part and then this happened...
So that put all my fun woodworking on hold and i spent the entire weekend cursing the name of the guy we bought our house from, because he royally fucked up everything he touched.
Around this time i decided: "Fuck it, i have some cardboard. i have a speaker. lets get this shit done."
up tha punx d00d!
I used a 10 inch Celestion G-10 40 N, which I'm told is basically a Chinese made greenback. It sounds terrific. Strong mids, enough bass to not sound thin or mushy at lower volumes, and it only set me back around $65. Not bad!
The cardboard is only a temporary solution, but hey look I'm finished with the sub floor! Time to get back to work!
