Latest projects: Duo Jag Jr & Lake placid JM

Post by jobo » Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:12 pm

Here are my two last builds: a lake placid blue with a Strat maple neck I had lying around.

And... some kind of mix between a LP Jr and a Duo Sonic, with an extra Jaguary vibe. A good friend of mine made the P90 pickup cover in mahogany, body is made of pine. Sounds fantastic, twangy but with tons of sustain (set neck here, fellas). The neck is a JMJM with the head and back stripped and satin’d. Just comfy as it should... hope you like it!

The duo jag is literally crying out for Tru-oil. That is so lovely.

That's some great looking work. I'm not sure any colour could look better than the natural wood, especially with that wood dogear cover and pickguard.

I sense some danelectro vibes in that duo jag, I would love it be in seafoam green or real bright blue with a white pickguard! But it also looks great as is.

Good proposals! Bare wood is fine, but the urge to spray some nitro is always there :fp:

Tru-oil is my first thought also. Nice guitar!
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

It would look good in Surf Green or Shell Pink.

Mmmm, I am in Sherwood green mode, it would match the wooden pieces perfectly, and no need for a custom pg. True oil is my second choice. We ll see...

I know it would be a hassle but how awesome would it be if the wood pick guard sat flush with the body in its own shallow routed hole?

sherwood green would look awesome.

i wouldn't have thought of that.

like a pine tree.

you'd have to wear a red flannel while playing it.
