Height Issues Installing Hot Rails in a Fender Jaguar

Post by RoséBear » Mon Sep 24, 2018 12:59 pm

Hey guys,

So I’m throwing a SD hot rails into my MIJ jaguar. It’s for a lollar in the neck position and I’m putting a hot Rails in the bridge. My main concern is, how do I install the pickup so that it’s at the correct height? From my understanding, jaguar pickups are raised up by the foam on the bottom of the pickup. Also, will I have to buy longer screws to accommodate some lift?

Thanks!

I have mounted jag pickups using M3 threaded inserts in the base of the cavity and 27mm M3 humbucker screws with springs. Screwing directly into the wood, foam spacers etc. were cheap, rough and ready 1960's Fender production practices that can be improved upon.
