Re: Best place to get pots, switches, jacks, etc. for Jazzmaster
Just wanted to say that FM Peckhammer helped me find the parts I was looking for from his personal stash!! Only been on this forum a week or so, but I'm always blown away when perfect strangers help each other out for absolutely no reason. Gives me quite a bit of hope for humanity!
Salut OSG!!

^ We are also happy to insult your taste in music if you want. I'm sure it sucks.

I'm sure it does.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a pic of my "build" soon. You know, I buy the parts, my luthier builds it.

I am familiar with this building method. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.Riff Magnum wrote: ↑Tue Sep 25, 2018 11:32 amHopefully I'll be able to post a pic of my "build" soon. You know, I buy the parts, my luthier builds it.

I have another question about my build, but didn't want to start another thread. So, my other guitars and basses have brass nuts, but i've heard that's no good with the Jazz trem. I've got a mastery bridge and trem waiting in the wings and they recommend unbleached cow bone.

Nut choice:
Unbleached bone is fine or Tusk XL. $4.61 for the bone blank, or $11.60 for the Tusk blank, available at stew mac. As long as you cut the slots right, they'll both work great. For bone, I typically apply big bends nut sauce. Also apply some to the bridge saddle where the string contacts it. Graphite works too. Pencil lead, or spray.

Hey all, I'm planning to do that Rothstein mod to my CP JM too. Did we ever find out where to get a 1meg reverse audio taper mini pot? Thanks in advance.

Except I sell a similar kit on Reverb for $85 plus shipping and have definitely discussed the rothstein mods on this site... Rothstein has discussed his mods on this site.Jaguar018 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 1:41 pmWhile I have never been much of a guitar pickup style modder, I have been in here for more than 10 years and I’ve never seen discussions of the ‘Rothstein Super Mod.’Riff Magnum wrote: ↑Wed Sep 19, 2018 12:16 pmAs popular as Jazzmasters are, I'd think there would be way more options out there, especially when people are obviously selling out of essential build parts.
That’s not to say that it’s bad or anything, but I suspect the lack of parts is due to the scarcity of demand.
Search “Jazzmaster STB MOD” here or on Reverb.

I just want to throw out a huge thanks to Peckhammer for getting me his JM mini PTB mod kit. He was incredibly helpful, professional, and easy to work with. If you're looking to mod your JM and need the right parts and/or someone to do the work for you, look no further.

I've got all the parts for the Rothstein PTB w/ series/parallel switch mod and I'm planning to do the work this week. However, I cannot for the life of me find a video or sound clip that demonstrates this mod. Does anyone know of a link anywhere? I'm curious to see what'll happen. I guess if not, I'll make my own and post a link.
