Second coat of stain finished the front and side. Nice dark brown. I filled a small crack in the forearm contour with grain filler. Seems to have worked.

I have two coats of clear on currently. It is still sucking the paint in.

Starting to finally get enough clear in it for it to begin to get glossy!

Awesome project, I bought an Epiphone EB0 in high school when FLCL first came out - a RIC was a bit outside my budget.
I have not yet finished Progressive; seems nowhere near as engaging as the first series, but cool that there's a Jazzmaster and a '57 Chevy in it.

How'd I miss this for so long? Way cool! FLCL is one of the few anime I enjoy, and ricks are both awesome and a fine thing to "knock off", as it were, IMO. They go after people selling their used Greco copies on ebay, so it's always nice to see someone have their cake and eat it too.
I always enjoy seeing your projects.

Thanks! I appreciate it.
I get why they need to protect their designs and such. I just wanted to make something for myself that had what I wanted. I could spend $3k on a Rick, but I don't like the pickups and bridge. I am also not huge into 3x3 tuners. Six in line is my favorite. This will have the stuff I like in a color I like with contours I like. If I could get a Rick the way I want one, I would consider that price. $3k is sort of steep for a mod guitar...

Wetsanded the headstock and installed the Gotoh tuners.

Should be able to get the neck on the body in a couple weeks when I go on break. I am letting the body cure still.

The pots, jack with plate, knobs, toggle, and pickups are coming in. Should be able to finish this around the holidays when I am off from work. I ordered Gibson 400's pickups with chrome covers.

Really dig this decal and the overall look of the headstock.
Might be hitting you up for decal advice in a few months.

That looks killer! I love how they're the same pickups, but mounted differently. Looks so good with the chrome and black
Thanks! I can't wait to see it on the body. Getting close to wetsanding day.
