Hi Guys,
First post here but a long time lurker. I've been lusting after a JM JM for a while now (the project mega thread didn't help)
but the TOM and basswood body has always stopped me from pulling the trigger.
Anyways last week I snagged a JM JM neck cheap and thought it would be a great starting point for my first offset project whoop!
The initial plan is to buy a fender body because yeah Alder so I pulled the trigger on a Ghost silver HH standard body from the stratosphere as I've always wanted an Inca Silver JM. Next will be to get the body routed for traditional JM Pickups and then upgrade all the wiring etc..
Couple of questions for you experts please...
1. I need a a new pickguard with JM pickup routing and rhythm circuit etc...Do the holes on the USA ones line up? I can't actually find any info which model pickguard would be compatible with the standard HH.
2. I'm gonna pull the trigger on some antiquities but can't decide between the I & II. Could anyone who's played both please describe the difference for me sound wise?
Thanks Jem

Slowly coming together, I'm hoping the body will arrive later today.
I went for a Luxe wiring loom and still scratching my head over with antiquities to get
The necks had the nut replaced and has a little damage to the fretboard behind the nut that bothers me enough that
I'll get it fixed when I take it in for set up but apart from that the finish feels amazing

Re: JM JM First Project...
So the body arrived yesterday and I threw the neck on and stringed her up because I couldn't wait.
Pickguard holes all lined up perfectly too so that's a small victory
The colour of the body is better than I ever expected. It's a silver with gold flecks which is hard to capture on camera but is really stunning
Just waiting on pickups now

Looks great, probably won't even be too much trouble routing out the pickup cavities.

That looks cool and I like the price point vs getting a body sprayed.

Yeah this will definitely turn out cheaper than getting the body resprayed and on top of that it's alder and not basswood!
I'm gonna leave it to my tech to do the routing as I don't wanna make a mess.
Couldn't be happier

Just ordered the pick ups and a stay trem for this bad boy
I went with Creamery and got a traditional 58 for the neck and an alnico 2 p90s for the bridge, seriously excited to get this finished now.
Also I've listed a 72 Mustang body with the original finish on eBay if anyones interested
Decided I'd much prefer a Jag with a bound neck
