Shell Pink Warmoth Jazzmaster build

Post by bgalizio » Sun Aug 12, 2018 4:00 am

Finished up a shell pink Warmoth Jazzmaster earlier this year. It's a swamp ash body from their showcase, and I had a P90 route in the middle position for future flexibility/weight reduction.

And with the pickup foam, bridge thimbles, and screws drilled.

I used Sunday Handwound Pickups Woodchime Jazzmaster pickups. These are Alnico 2 7k3 neck, 8k5 bridge and sound fantastic. I did not wire a rhythm switch.

Emerson cap, CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, Fender switch. I screwed up the 3 way switch, but it has been corrected since this picture.

The neck is a Warmoth modern construction maple with rosewood fretboard, compound radius, 6150 frets, satin nitro finish, graphite nut. I put Sperzel open back locking tuners with the EZ mount system. Also using a Mastery string tree.

Mocked up with Fender pickup covers, knobs, and an adjustable Mustang style bridge that I ended up not using. Also using a Staytrem term arm.

Finished with the bridge I didn't like, and then a Mastery bridge. Great guitar!

I dig it! I’ve got Sunday Handwound Pickups in my BMM project (see the build thread in this section) and I’m really into how they sound!

I like it but I would like it more if either the pickups an knobs were white or the pickguard was not. How about a gold anodized guard? I think it would look killer with that finish.

I thought about all white or all parchment. Even black pickups. But looking through some old examples I just liked the aged pieces with white pickguard the best.
