Vibrato Part Number

Post by Anon.Dando » Mon Jun 18, 2018 10:28 pm

Hello everyone,

I have lurked this forum for probably 15 years. It has been a great resource for me as a Jazzmaster player, so much so that in all that time every question I have had I have been able to find the answer to by digging around and searching the forum, however, I have a question I am unable to find the answer to and so I today I have joined and I am hoping someone could clear this up for me.

I am thinking of changing the vibrato on my CIJ Jazzmaster to a US unit. On reading this page:
http://www.alphabetcityblog.com/2012/02 ... emolo.html
- the writer suggest using a Fender vibrato part # 0054466000.
My question is, what is the difference between that part and this: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Genuine ... aXNRo#rwid
- which has the part #0054466049, and will this one fit on my guitar?

Also, I am in Australia, which makes it slightly more difficult to find parts at a decent price. I Would really appreciate some help, thanks in advance.

I’m not completely sure of the difference, but I know it will definitely fit. All of those tailpieces are a simple plug and play deal.

I believe that part there us actually the same or similar Japanese part you’re trying to upgrade. Like this one:

I believe you’re looking for an AVRI tremolo, like a ‘65 RI.

It's the AVRI trem. And according to Darren Riley the two numbers are the same part:

Angela confirms that the '49' is the legit article too ...
