Help me make a dumb decision

I sold an sg with single blade pickups to fund my first offset, a jaguar. I now have only my parts jazzmaster but i do miss jaguar pickup sound. Curtis Novak makes jazzmaster size gold foils that look awesome and sound good on YouTube, but that’s all I know.

Oh boy. P90/S/S is always great. HB/S/P90.
Firebirds, WRHB, Goldfoils are other awesome choices - too many to mention.
Of course a variety of pups can look messy too.
What kind of music do you play and what tones are you going for?

Well, I’ve got the WRHB route covered, so I guess I’m looking for something a bit more clear/thin. I play mostly punk-inflected indie pop, think early Arctic Monkeys or the Pillows.

Something a little trashier would do me well too though. Something that gives you that trashy grit under the clean and fuzzes up well, hence the P90 option. That’s what makes singlebladepickup’s offering interesting to me.

P90’s ain’t shabby either, ive got a Novak jm-90 in the bridge and jm-v in the neck, and it’s a wonderful combo. But yeah the gold foil can be sparkly or crunchy, and trashy if you want it. It was definitely one I had considered for my own, and would again if I got another guitar

Okay, this would be awesome. Anyone know the difference between p90’s and mosrite pickups?

I’m definitely considering a foil, alongside the P90’s. I have a friend with an old Teisco that I fell in love with, despite how shitty it played cuz of that pickup.

I've never played a mosrite myself, but my understanding is that it sounds like a P90 on steroids, with more high end.
