Re: Costello-ish Bastard Jag Build
That one was by Pickguardian. I sent him the original pickguard (from the Cobain model) and asked him to cut for firebird pickups instead of humbuckers. It's a decent guard, but looking closely there are a few sloppy bits. (Not the kind of sloppy bits that excite me )my main man wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 6:15 amLove it! Where did you get your pickguard?JVG wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 2:02 amFirebird pickups are great in Jags. Here's mine, which I still love, well after the honeymoon period. I went the less cluttered "no rings" option.

More recently, I've had a pickguard made by OSG's own Deed_Poll, which was of superior quality to anything I've had done previously. If he's taking on work at the moment, I recommend looking him up. It may not be your cheapest option, but it will be done properly. His attention to detail is very impressive.
Cheers!

Re: Costello-ish Bastard Jag Build
Got a present in the mail today. This is my first Warmoth neck. I'm impressed. Anyone have suggestions for a nice neck amber that I'd be able to pick up locally? I've done Reranch neck amber in the past and it's great but $20 +wait time for one coat of amber seems kind of dumb right now. I'm doing a Tru-Oil finish. I've read about people using tints mixed with denatured alcohol and mixing it in with the Tru-Oil but I haven't seen any examples of what it ends up looking like. Might just do the Tru-Oil and let nature and time take care of the ambering.

I like the pickup rings! I think on a Jaguar any way to add more chrome just looks great!

Funny enough, I actually contemplated making some sort of blank chrome headstock plate to add a random bit of chrome on that end.Kaganovich wrote: ↑Fri Jun 08, 2018 10:29 amI like the pickup rings! I think on a Jaguar any way to add more chrome just looks great!

Got the last coat of Tru Oil on last night. Pickups are ordered but on backorder. Just need some wiring stuff!

Witch Hats. I don't usually like 'em, but they really capture that '70s walnut vibe.

Usually I'm more of a solid color kind of guy, but that stain is really pretty. If I ever get around to a Jag build, this is what I want it to look like! Loving the no ring look, too.

Love it. I’d go with witch hats, but either way it’s beautiful
