That looks really nice.
I like the pre-grain fill look too.

Re: Bumble Bee Telemaster
Me too. I think both work ok. I kind of like the grain filler one because it is a little more quirky? I kind of like the imperfections and things that show details in the wood. Pro finishes are really awesome, but sometimes feel too perfect if that makes sense. Hand done finishes for me are never going to be like those. I think they are cool in their own way.

Hmm, I was expecting a lot more contrast. It's an interesting effect regardless.

Re: Bumble Bee Telemaster
I've never really messed with grain filler, and this makes me want to try some a bit. Guitar work aside, I usually work with oak, which seems to have some depth without it, but still I'm curious.

I think it is pretty fun. Only my second time, but it can do some interesting things.

I actually think the subtlety of it looks way better than I even expected. I was sort of expecting a really harsh CC DeVille-style Telemaster or something. This has a bit of a 50s Tele/70s LP Jr vibe and I dig it.

Yellow guitar, contrasting grain filler, humbuckers, it is like you are trying to make a guitar I hate, but I am finding myself liking it a great deal.
Really like that shade of yellow.

Yellow is always the last color I think of, but that shade is really pretty.
I dig the grain filler too. Not obnoxious!

Re: Bumble Bee Telemaster
I am glad you guys are mostly digging it. It does remind me of a Les Paul Jr finish a bit.

Clear coats are done and it is curing time.

Really liking this thing. Is it dry enough to lay the pickguard/pickups on it for a quick mock-up?
