Replacement pickups for a Squier VM Jaguar
Does anyone have any suggestions for replacement pickups for a Squier VM Jaguar? I'd like to stay on the lower end of the price spectrum, so I'm thinking about the Fender V-Mod, American Vintage '65, etc. I've never actually played any Jag pickups besides the ones that come stock in the Squier Jag. I'm favoring a loud and hot sound over a vintage sound.

Check out Sunday Handwound Pickups on Reverb. Made by an OSG member, you can message him to describe what you want and he'll wind you a bitchin' pair of pickups for cheaper than a set of AV65's.
Here is an example of one of his Jag sets along with a soundclip. Just hit "contact seller" to message him (you'll need a Reverb account).

The stock pickups are good!
I'm also looking at changing them on mine though, more out of enjoying experimenting with things than to get any particular sound.

Yeah, I don’t have any problem with the stock pickups, but if there better ones out there I’d be up for trying some. The Squier is a pretty amazing guitar for the price!

If you prefer output over voicing: Seymour Duncan "Hot" or even the "Quarterpounder".

Thanks for the connection. This seems like a decent custom option and the prices are not bad.mbene085 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 7:16 amCheck out Sunday Handwound Pickups on Reverb. Nothing against the pickups really. But if you’re going to try some mods to enhance the sound of a guitar, then experimenting with the pickups seems like a logical place to start.

I absolutely hated the stock VM Jag pickups, super hot and treble heavy imo. The AVRI Jag pickups were a MASSIVE improvement to me, and they are quite cheap, I think you can get a set for $65 new or so.
