Jaguar on-board effects

Post by Stephen_42 » Mon May 21, 2018 7:53 am

I've had a whacky idea that might work, wondered if anyone knows whether it's possible:

Squier Jaguar
- Take out rhythm circuit. Use this cavity to house a 9V battery. (Does anyone know if it would fit? If not, that scuppers everything...)
- Add some kind of fun effects circuit in the lead cavity. Perhaps chorus or fuzz, convince me (I'd do it as much for sake of having a fun project as for the end result!)

So yeah... is that do-able??

not sure about the battery fitting and such, but I think its a great idea for the jag since you can just pop off the upper panel if the batteries dead.
you'd need access in the back for a jazzmaster, or have to remove the whole pickguard to replace it.

Exactly my logic!

Were I doing something like this from scratch (e.g. Warmoth) I'd get a proper battery box installed, and have either the rhythm or lead circuits as master and use the other to control the effects. But for now I like the idea of doing something fun (and reversible!) with the Jag I've got.
