I ordered a Gotoh trem the vintage TS model and should arrive next week. The pickguards are on their way as well, but taking their sweet time (coming from China, I'm guessing).

No rush in finishing it obviously, but it's exciting! I don't need or really want anymore guitars but I like having projects get completed. I'm restless otherwise.

Exactly! I do have a feeling the bridge won't fit the body... But hey, dremel's are a thing that exist!

String spacing would be another big one to place bets on.

Well the original bridge I have on the guitar has the correct non-import/vintage-correct spacing so I'm not too worried about that. But there will be a few surprises nonetheless.

Bridge fits perfectly! And the pickguards arrived today as well. So, mock up time!

Probably, the diamond pickup is hotter.
I think the Hershey bars I had were less than 5k, the big dearmonds are usually 10+

Thanks! The slightly aged white almost looks light pink with the mint guard on it, which I quite like.

You're right, the silver foil is about 9.6k and the Hershey is around 4.2 k, I believe. But they're both about the same output, believe it or not. The Hershey bar is longer and narrower by a hair and makes the silver foil look a little small by comparison.

Unless there's a better pickup I could be using in the bridge?

Ooooh!!! That looks great! I dig how the mint brings out the pink /red hues on the body.

I prefer the look of the dearmond in the neck but its probably not practical given the output. So I'd lean towards keeping the dearmond in the bridge, hershey in the neck. I mean either way is super cool. I even think the spacing of both pickups looks best on the bottom pic. You could always get another guard and flip them to see.

Please tell me you have a beautiful old cupcake knob for this thing.

The dearmond looks great in the neck! So I think I'll just go ahead and wire it up like that. I want to have this guitar wired neck- SERIES-bridge, ideally, but at first I'm just going to have it running in series only, no switch, and maybe no pot. This is how I play my Danelectro usually (when it's set up like a 6 string guitar, rather than a six string bass) and it rips!

There's also this setup, but I haven't tested it out yet:

Me too, it looks like something you'd find on a crappy Teisco lap steel or electric, which works for what I'm going for. It's quite low output so it won't be perfect, but... Shrug.

Just snapped a quick picture of what I put together this morning. It's just temporarily hooked up with gator clips and tape, but I'll hook it up for real eventually. I have it tuned to open E currently and it sounds pretty good!
