building my first guitar in at least 3 years. its much more fun than i remember. this is kind of just for fun/prototyping a new design.
going for a combination of mosrite, harvey thomas, guyatone etc. i think it turned out pretty cool. excited for the rest of the parts to arrive.

the specs are going to be:
24.75 scale maple/rosewood neck
filtertrons
2x on/off pickup switches
vol/tone
mosrite style bridge/vibrato
black edges to gold inner metallic burst

got the body done today:


dont judge my messy control cavity. my jigsaw broke and i freehanded it with the router. ha.

I really like the shape of the body. Nice work! Are you making the neck too?

Thanks. I just ordered a neck with a paddle headstock. I got rid of some essential tools back when I decided I didn't wanna build guitars anymore so fretting etc is out of the question at this point.

just made the pickguard. the rest of the parts are scheduled to arrive tomorrow. hopefully i will get paint going this week.

This looks awesome. Is that mdf you're using?

Yep, MDF. I usually do "prototypes" in MDF. It's so cheap that if I hate it or fuck it up, it's no big deal.

everything but the neck arrived today. got electronics done and the pickup routs enlarged (the template i used first was too small).
neck was supposed to be here. was planning on measuring the bridge placement with neck and center line so i could do the primer. maybe tomorrow. oh well.

well, it's finished.
the black/gold burst was a definite bust. decided to go for wedgewood metallic (charcoal/purple/blue combo)

overall i am pretty happy. turned out better than id hoped, aside from the paint issues.

i did order some single coils for this a while ago and they should finally be here this week so ive already got plans to mod it.

That looks fantastic. Familiar yet distinctive. And I like the color, I'm glad that the black/gold burst didn't work out.

That looks really great. I'm digging the parted haircut look of the head stock. You should make a logo that looks like a pair of glasses.
