No, it's an all-original Fender Coronado Antigua.
Sorry to all for the post derailment.

I bought a USACG bass VI neck and they sent it off to their binding guy so I could get a B&B neck. It took forever, but it looks great.

That's what I've heard.. They quoted me 10 weeks, how long do you reckon it took you?

I know once I get a neck going someone will post a Bass VI build for sale here :squint:

I missed out on a Lake Placid Blue Bass VI build a couple of years ago and it STILL haunts me!! Who bought that damn thing!

I've never actually used USACG but I've heard great things about them. I echo early sentiments that I wish Musikraft made one -_- I love their work.

Mcjt, are you working on any projects right now?

I want to do a Marauder build after this Bass VI build.

I've got shitloads of projects.
I have to demolish a veranda, renovate a bathroom....
I just finished a Frankenstein power amplifier....
And then get back to a 12s Coronado project.

Oh! and a fucked up Martin D28 I came across:

I ordered a Bass VI body and neck from USACG June 2017. You might have read about the turmoil that company has gone through in recent times.

After much probing and hassling, I received the body 2 weeks ago (Feb 2018). It's beautiful, finished in Inca Silver. (I got my order in before they ceased painting stuff).

I'm still waiting for the neck. At last investigation (start on March) it was being sent to the painter. Considering the state of USACG at the moment, and the fact it's gonna need a cites permit (which they were still offering when I made the order) Im wondering if I'll ever get the neck. I hope I do.

That's my experience with USACG in its current state.

Cheers!
J

Jesus Christ. What happened to them? I've never read anything bad about them until recently.

I know they're a great company to buy from but only having one person in the entire shop who can do binding and quoting me at least 12 weeks for it to be built on top of another 3-6 weeks before they start the neck is kind of insane.

Yeah it's a real shame, and I hope they get their shit together once again.

I had such good experiences with them in the past.

Cheers.

Seeing as the thread was bumped...

I've purchased a few Bass VI conversion necks from a builder on fleabay several years back. IIRC, the builder's name is D. Kunkle and his fleabay handle is something like D_42. WARNING - searching for "D_42" will likely yield a lot of ladies plus sized undergarments.

Yea, DC Kunkle necks have quite the reputation... But I believe it's been years since he stopped making them.

If anyone's doing it today, I'd bet on Sound Guitar Works.
