XII (DONE !!!!! page 3 ) and Coronado (DONE !!!!! page 4 ) projects. The JM??
Hey,
Today, I had the most delicious delivery in my mailbox...some parts I was looking after since a looooong time.
I even thought I wouldn't be able to grab them anytime soon.
But I did!!!
For once I wasn't too late on the FS section and pm'd 2flAz about his listing, and as usually with him, Fabz is a great guy to deal with.
I told him "thanks" a lot since then, but I'll do it again here:
THANK YOU SO MUCH FABZ
So,
What did I got?
Most everything I need to get my XII project started and the beginning of my JM project.
Those XII parts are, I think, what's most difficult to find...such a relief to have them, I mean it.
First, this strider13 no-trem XII plate:
Then this incredible '67 bridge modded by will (if I recall correctly):
This was my main concern about starting this project...now it's here it's all good!!!
And this great great great great '67 Coronado neck:
Look!
I got it for its 51 birthday!!
That's it for the XII project.
I have to raise funds for the body now, but it won't be a regular XII body...something special...I have to check with Dan again. Last time he was ok
Fabz also send me this JM pickguard:
Both on the pic will be used as templates for homemade ones.
Here is the XII next to its sibling, which is going to be my JM neck:
The 6 neck looks like a pregnant fish next to the XII
For those who might asking (I know I was asking myself before today), heels are the same on those two necks.
By eye they look exactly the same:
I couldn't be more happy.
But now I have two projects at the same time!!!
That's great though, I didn't have any since 2 years.
Project times are the best imo.
Just need to find a beaten up vintage body for the JM...
Pickups will come from MojoPickups...Marc is working on something for my XII ones .
Anyway,
Just wanted to share!!!
Cheers,
raph

I love that both headstocks say Coronado & neither are actually going to be a Coronado.
We are merely moving shadows.

Re: XII and JM projects (NPartsD!!!)
I didn't see it at first but now it's all I can see !!!!
But my main concerns are here :
- WHERE do I find a case for it?
- will I be able or will I even dare to play such a show off guitar
- I play with short straps, I play very high on the chest...soooo...the upper side of the body would touch my chin...or my nose !!!!!
So, sorry but it's a "no".

Re: XII and JM projects (NPartsD!!!)
Yep, me too...but I'll have to wait, both projects will be slow builds. I need to raise big funds for both bodies.
It will be hard but in the end I know I will be happy forever.
I sure hope that!!!

Re: XII and JM projects
Today is a good day, because the XII project has become concrete for real just by ordering a guitar body from Dan (Deed_Poll).
Exciting time !!!!!

Re: XII and JM anc Coronado projects
BODIES UPDATE !!!!!!
First, the JM has been delayed...again, for the third time at least.
I bought the Coronado body will was selling two weeks ago, because I had to, and now I have a Coronado project !!!
I attached the 6 coro neck to it and the special plan for it has already begun...
The JM project is down to the pickguard now
As for the XII, Dan gave the body he built for me to Jon.
I'm thrilled :
