1965 Mustang Neck Pickup

Post by andy » Wed Feb 07, 2018 2:52 pm

Hello, I have a pickup from an old mustang. Been lying around forever and never ended up using it. Does anyone know what the value of such a thing is? I apologize if this is the wrong section. Thanks!

The market is volatile, but if it works and you're patient, you can fetch well over what a brand new boutique pickup costs. Mustang pickups are basically flush-pole strat pickups, so the strat enthusiasts keep the demand up decently for early-mod 60's pickups.

Reverb is by far the place with the highest asking prices for these.

I feel like $70 to $90 is a good ball park. At least the last time I was in the market to buy or sell such a thing.
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

Or you could scribble an "AY" on it and list it for $400.
