Fernandes Sustainer in a Jag?
Could this be done? Has it? I’m thinking the unit deck. The Ed OBrien Strat would be great in a Jag

Re: Fernandes Sustainer in a Jag?
Personally I would get the humbucker sustainer since if you use the normal one, it leaves you with a single pickup guitar. The sustainer doesn't function as a normal pickup, but the humbucker is half sustainer, half single coil. You would of course have to route your body and pick guard though.
What is acoustic? Oh, you means a grandpa's guitars? A grandpa's guitars? That's for pussies and grandpas. I think you know it.

Re: Fernandes Sustainer in a Jag?
I'm about to get into a project with an FSK-401 kit, thanks to some jaw-dropping EOB-S demos.
~The Sustainer doubles as a pickup~
You can't switch out of the bridge position in Sustainer mode, but you can once the Sus is switched off.
I'm working on a pickguard that will allow 9v bat drop-in without obvious routing. I'll be replacing the 5-way blade with a 3-way switch. The Fernandes support site has all the info I need.

Re: Fernandes Sustainer in a Jag?
Technically, this is going in a La Cabronita Boracha body; I have Richard Saylor making a Reverse Jag body with a Strat pocket. I'm routing the top out myself, and I'm dropping the whole kit in on a jazzmaster-esque self-made pickguard. Even the bat compartment will be in the guard. I'm not saying you won't have to modify an existing build. I am saying yes, this is going in a close relative to the Jag.
