Looks really classy! How do you like those pickups?
Really love them. It's an unusual combination, but I really wanted two distinct voices; my first choice for the neck pickup was an Hi-Lo'Tron, but anything other than another HLT in the bridge would have outpowered it. I talked to the guys at TV Jones (who were fantastically helpful!), who helped me decide on this. It's a slightly imbalanced combo, and it feels a bit like two guitars in one, which is exactly what I wanted, but nothing feels out of place.

Sorry, a bit late to see this, but nice work! Really well thought out and the end result shows it. I like that colour combo too. Well done, you can take the rest of the day off! ;D

Pardon me if it's been mentioned, but where did you get that pickguard?

Fantastic thread! Your guitar turned out great.

I also wanted a hardtail Mustang with the smaller headstock (but with a maple fretboard) so I did a neck swap with my MIM Mustang and Duosonic.
Your custom pickguard turned out great. It's truly a one of a kind Must-o-Sonic. Nice work!

Here's how my two ended up.

Love the pink one! It was my first choice of finish (would have gotten a black guard), but my girl vetoed it... :(

So delicate.. that has to be one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen.

If someone asked "what's the prettiest girl you've ever seen?" I'd probably send them this pic

So, this was the quick mockup I first did on PhotoShop:

And this is the result:

Still have to set it up... Other wise, plays like a charm, and quiet as hell.
Good work!

So, as I mentioned elsewhere, the color seems different that it originally was...

The finish is poly, and the guitar is stored in a gig bag when I don't play it. When I got the body (new, from The Stratosphere), it was like this, which I described as a "champagne-y silver" in the first post, like a warmer Inca Silver, and a far cry from the dark silver color displayed on Fender's website:

Now, I know the lighting is different, but here's a picture I took today after some maintenance:

Image

If in some light it retains a slight silver hue, most of the time it looks like a greenish champagne finish. I don't get how it could have changed so drastically... I mean, I love this color, but it's really puzzling me.
