Re: Surf Green MJT Jazzmaster Build
Got the tremolo installed. Neck is sprayed but still curing. Decided to see how it is looking. Pretty excited.

Re: Surf Green MJT Jazzmaster Build
FIrst - much positive mojo sent to your wife, your family, friends and you. I know that impacts everybody, but especially her.
Secondly, and far less important, I just took delivery of a beauty of a Surf Green MJT JM body on Monday. I really have ZERO business starting any more projects (I've got 3 other MJT bodies and 3 other Musikraft bodies in various states of non-completion ), but I've always wanted something in true Surf Green, and this one was a pretty crazy cheap score.
I think this is going to be the rosewood-boarded matching version of my LPB one (that matches my son's Comepetition Orange one).

Re: Surf Green MJT Jazzmaster Build
Wetsanded the headstock and installed the nut and tuners. Mounted the neck since the holes were predrilled. Hopefully the strings line up straight. One strange thing is there are raised areas by the high E, B, and G string tuner bushing holes. They were like that before the bushings went in. Hopefully it is nothing really serious. There were matching angled marks on the back also by those holes. At any rate, it is looking good.

Re: Surf Green MJT Jazzmaster Build
Pickups came... and I realized I didn't have pickup screws to attach them to the body. Oh well. They are wired now as I now wait for screws.... LOL

Bad ass like always. We have similar tastes. I’d love to see a family photo of your builds.

That looks really great! I had MJT refinish a Telecaster for me a few years ago. They were great to work with and quick/affordable too.

It's beautiful, but I'd have gone with either black pickup covers or pickguard, to pick up (no pun intended) the black on the headstock. Probably the covers, since mint on surf green is so perfect.
Regardless, that's a killer guitar.

Re: Surf Green MJT Jazzmaster Finished Pg. 3
If you mean a clone of my red one, it is definitely different. It has different pots and different pickups. Red has Novak WRHB pickups and the Jazz circuit has 500k pots. With my surf green, I tried out Picasso pickups and I kept the traditional pot values in the Jazz circuit.
What I noticed about my red one, the 500k sound vs the 1meg sound isn't super different so I don't tend to have any reason to use it. With the surf green, having the stock value gives me much more variety of sound with the two sets of pots.
The Picasso pickups have their own sound compared to Novak WRHB.
