Yep, that mint looks terrific, AW ! Much nicer than the mock-up a few posts back.

I know you're being 'budget-minded' with this build, so one last suggestion..cream pickup covers ? Cheap as chips, in general ! ( I went back to your OP to see what came with the kit..black covers ).

Such a cool & impressive build, mate !

Best,
Jeff.
You convinced me Jeff. I just got on ebay and bought a set of Alinco pickups with cream covers. They were cheap and I've been wondering if I should go with Alnico instead of the stock ceramics anyway, so this was just a good excuse to kill two birds with one stone. Thanks!

Plus, I don't think the stock pickups will go to waste, I've had the idea to build my little girl a miniature 3 string guitar and I think I will use the stock pickups in it as a bridge and neck single coil on that guitar when I get around to building it.
I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

Love the mint guard on that body.

I sprayed some more clear, although I think I still need more. Especially on the inside of the horns and end of the neck heel. Once it warms back up I’ll spray more here it is so far. Loving the creme covers! As an added bonus, since this kit is a knock off, most of the bits and bobs wouldn't fit standard Fender, so since I went with a guard that will, it wouldn't fit the pickups that came with the kit anyway, so I would have had to modify the guard had I know bought these extra alinco pickups and covers.

Well the lacquer has had enough time to cure, so I wet sanded and polished and start putting this thing together. So far I have the tuners, the pickups, guard, neck, and bridge installed. I still need to wire everything up, string it, and set it up. But this is where it stands now. Sorry about the color in these pics, something is weird about them. Like the color saturation and white balance is off. You get the idea.

Oh yeah, and evidently I don't have a fantastic bond with the paper on the top in some spots, so while it;s been setting some long cracks in the clear have been forming where the paper moves slightly... Not sure what to do about this, if anything... I will likely just let it ride for now, and one day may redo the top.

The string was used to help line up the bridge, pickguard and pickup. The pickup isn't exactly where I would like it to be, but given I am also trying to place a pickguard that didn't come with this kit and doesn't fit it perfectly, I had to sacrifice a bit. But I think everything will still play and function just fine.

Just dropping in to say what I'm sure many others will also express:

Holy good bloody lord that is lovely. I can't believe how gorgeous and individual that finish is! Congratulations, you must be so pleased with yourself!

Also I think the tele headstock shape is a really cool choice, adds that little extra bit of definition and individuality to the whole effect.

That thing is just great. Showed it to my partner, who loves to do paper decoupage on furniture and other things, and she was really taken with it as well.

Once again, great, great stuff. It makes me appreciate the Precision body shape again. I play a lot of P and kind of forget what they look like.

I really like the too. I'd love to see some more examples of paper finishes.
