I'm looking to put a red tort pickguard on my fender roadworn jazzmaster (burst finish). I have looked at spitfire -- obviously top-notch, but they're pricey. I might go that route, but I'd like to see what other options are out there.
Anybody know of a good place to get a red tort celluloid guard that will fit? I looked at WD Music, but their only celluloid tort appears to be regular tort -- not red tort. I'm really looking for a more red color, not the brownish version.
Thanks for any suggestions!

if you can make it fit, the 90's MIJ red ones were pretty nice. I still have mine on my Jazz Bass.

Thanks.
I email WD Music a few times. Apparently one of their available celluloids IS a red tort, it just doesn’t appear to be worded that way. I ordered one today, so we’ll see how it turns out.

I am more than happy with my WD red tort. I have two, one on a tele one on a jazzmaster and they're just beautiful.Mind Flayer wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 8:41 pmThanks.

Most of those are printed, i.e. look closely and you will see the dotted halftone, look from further away and it still looks very flat, sort of a surface decor. Celluloid has an actual layer of material on the top - the tortoise "swirl", and that gives the pickguard a nice depth and more vibrant color. It's a goofy thing to sweat about, but we kind of all do.timtam wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 10:23 pmA dozen or so different shades of red tortoise on ebay ...

I received and installed the WD red tort, and I’m really happy with it. It was a perfect fit on my Roadworn. Here’s a before and after. Before was anondized gold with the stock knobs, bridge, and trem. After is WD red tort with witch hat avri knobs, avri trem and staytrem bridge. I know a lot of folks think burst and tort is boring, but it’s my favorite color scheme on jazzmasters and jaguars (followed closely by sherwood green and/or LPB and red tort). Love this thing now. Just need to get a trem arm tip.
EDIT: Well, I can’t figure out how to get my images to show, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. In any event, thumbs up to the WD red tort!
