Sunday handwound pickups on reverb?

Post by leonardmichael » Sun Nov 19, 2017 6:25 am

Anyone have any experience with Sunday handwound pickups out of Georgia on reverb? They have an interesting jazzmaster set with alnico 5’s for the wound strings and alnico 2’s for the plain strings. Sound clip sounds good but experience is king! Thanks in advance !

I have a pair of Timothy's pickups in my 12-string that I got put together recently...

He was really easy to work with and designed a custom set based on what I thought would work best for a 12-string electric. They sound great. I recorded some samples if you want to check them out here...

I think they're great and rival the Antiquity II's in my Squire JM (and they were cheaper).

The owner was a regularly contributing member of OSG for years. I've owned several of his pickups (and a pedal), as have many other forum members. His pickups are very good, and he'll work with you to get a wind that matches your tonal preferences.

Perfect! Exactly what I was hoping to hear! Thanks guys, I’ll give Sunday a shot in my most recent JM build.

I have had a set from him for 3 years. Great pickups, and he's really easy to work with. Only reason I put them for sale is that I've been winding my own pickups for a while. Mine are probably not in the same league, but it's still fun and rewarding to play something you made by yourself.

By the way, the "woody set" (alnico II) by Timothy had great reputation on this forum. If I wanted to buy from him again, that's what I'd try.

I've got a few sets of his pickups. Tim's a class act.
