Ask if Saylor can find some rosewood and help you out:

The OP says the guitar is a thinline design which IS semi-hollow. So your post may not sound stupid, but definitely a little odd.

Diego, you're considering buying from the eBay seller who says he's in FL but is based in Brazil?

https://www.ebay.com/sch/guitarbuild-brasil/m.html

I've watched their listings for a while. They seem to make decent gear.
They don't show the headstocks because they are not Fender-shaped and a little off putting.

IMO, it doesn't look like brazilian rosewood (dalbergia nigra), not to mention they can't freely ship that around due to protection from CITES.
It should be dalbergia latifolia (indian rw), dalbergia sissoo or a south american species that looks like them.
I may be wrong but they must have SPECIAL permission to ship dalbergia nigra from one country to another!

My tele body is a 1 piece from Musikraft and weighs 6.6 pounds. So it made a 10 pound (4.5 kg) Tele. Yeah, heavy-ish, but less than a lot of Les Paul's!!!

Nels Cline had this very nice JM made, by Henss Guitars:

OSG member Dirge has made MANY rw guitars:

I think a body from Guitar Build Brasil is a safe bet. the neck too if you don't mind a strange-looking headstock.
Musikraft, Warmoth, USACG can definitely help too, but $$$$$$$

Good luck and PLEASE post your next Jazzmaster!
Thats right, i am ralking with those guys. The exactly wood is "Amazon Rosewood" or "Dalbergia Spruceana".
Here you can find more information

http://www.wood-database.com/amazon-rosewood/

My tele weighs 10.1Lb, a heavy guitar. Yoy can carry for some minutes after you started to get tired. But it is so beautiful!!!
mcjt wrote:Some of the wood looks like Pau ferro, aka Morado.
Btw the eBay seller has a jazzmaster body at 5.9 pounds, 1 lb lighter than the thinline JM

and that's one very nice Tele. i'd like to see more!

The telecaster has a fine job. Not as perfect as warmoth but it is fine. The fret finish could be better.
This will be mi first Jazzmaster. A strange one, but jazzmaster at least.

everything looks good!
Your tele was made by whom?
By the same company?
Personally, i would get a warmoth neck. But there are other excellent luthiers out there.
the eBay reseller shoots photos of his product with his feet in the way? :)

That'll make a beautiful instrument. Looking forward to following your progress.

Your English is fine. We know what you are saying. Heck, that's better than I can say about my neighbor and he was born here. :D

The tele was made by Guitarbuild https://www.facebook.com/guitarbuild.br and yes, it is the same company.
Warmoth necks looks lovely, but dont forget that i live in Argentina, and the cost of two shippings could be higher.
Im going to tell the price that those guys gave me. 700$. I think is unbeatable.

i thought the rosewood looked similar!
for a dalbergia species, it resembles morado a lot, i find.
So if it is so advantageous to you to get the parts in South America from these guys, AND you have positive experience with their products, you shouldn't have doubts in regards to their Jazzmaster Thinline.
Right?
The rest of us here in the North will buy our stuff from North American and European suppliers.
(jeez, now i want to build another rw guitar)
