Jazzmaster w/ 4-way switch

Post by abefroman » Mon Sep 11, 2017 7:02 pm

I'm trying to wire a Jazzmaster with a 4-way Tele switch.

But stupidly I've wired using the tele schematic with the Jazzmaster schematic, so I've bypassed the rhythm switch.

Solo position works, rhythm position no sound.

Do you guys know how I would wire it so the rhythm/solo switch works?

Thanks!

Take the yellow wire from the neck pickup/4 way, and solder it to the middle tag of the rhythm switch as per the original wiring. LEAVE the black wire on the 4 way., take a wire from the rhythm switch to the 4 way tag you removed the yellow wire from...
wire the rest of the rhythm circuit as per original...
... that is my educated guess, BUT I have a feeling that the rhythm circuit will only work in 3 of the 4 positions - ie the non-series positions. I don't think it's possible to wire it so it works as it did before on all 4 way positions.

If it were me, I wouldn't bother with the rhythm circuit and just stick with the 4 way.
