Revelator Guitars Jazzmaster Build
In my last double bound build post, had to part ways w/ the builder.
So here I am now w/ Revelator Guitars and im very optimistic! They've listened to every detail and are coming thru, i can be very picky btw lol. Josh @Revelator has taken really great care of me
Specs as follows...
Alder body 7lbs (overall)
Double white binding
Flame maple neck
Rosewood fretboard
Mastery hardware
Spitfire guard
Lollar Jazzmaster pups
Basing build off this, but won't have blocks...

Re: Jazzmaster Build with Revelator Guitars
Who made the JM in that photo? It's gorgeous. Are you also going with black, or something else?
I notice the one in the photo has blocks but an unbound neck. Are you going with neck binding? I totally would...an unbound neck on a bound guitar just seems like a missed opportunity to me!

Re: Jazzmaster Build with Revelator Guitars
Previous builder made it. Going w/ nitro black again, basically everything the same. Except no block inlays, going w/ clay dots instead. I feel the same, most builders opt out of binding the neck for some reason. Revelator is different, they were down to do it. I just prefer B+B on LP style guitars.mbene085 wrote:Who made the JM in that photo? It's gorgeous. Are you also going with black, or something else?

Neck will be flame maple and figured rosewood.
Neck specs:

My neck so far...
Asked them to tint it, here are some of their previous builds:
Decided on these decals for the headstock:

Re: Jazzmaster Build with Revelator Guitars
Revelator heard that I had no guitar at the moment, sold them all lol. So they have lent me a NitroJet while I wait for my build to finish, duo sonic but beefed up!
Been gassing for a NitroJet for a while now. Def getting one, now that I've felt it out. After I save up tho lol.

Re: Jazzmaster Build with Revelator Guitars
Revelator are really great at relic finishes, i'd say one of the best in the market IMO. But I decided to go w/ a brand new finish instead.
They offer 3 types of clear lacquer, one is vintage style which checks relatively quickly, one is instrument lacquer which is a little more durable, and the other is piano lacquer which is pretty resistant to checking.
Decided to go w/ the instrument lacquer, don't want it to relic too fast. But eventually, after earning it respectively thru gigging

Lovely guitars and apparently lovely people too! That NitroJet is awesome! I'm weird though: my favorite part? The atom symbol on the headstock

Re: Revelator Guitars Jazzmaster Build
Hahaha! Same!! They usually put their logo on the hs, but I specifically asked for the atom. Such a rad idea! Once I start the NitroJet build, def gonna ask them to add the atom again!Shadoweclipse13 wrote:Lovely guitars and apparently lovely people too! That NitroJet is awesome! Re: Revelator Guitars Jazzmaster Build
Wait...a "7lb Alder Body"?!??!!?
That's going to be an anvil!
Did you mean 7 lbs overall, with parts? I won't use anything heavier than a 4lb body - maybe 4.2lbs for a Jazzmaster.
