Of the colours you listed, I'd be going with LPB... I think metallics tend to look better with pearloid guards, they just have a bit more depth.

What about a custom colour? A metallic or candy Fiesta Red or Daphne Blue?

Or a candy root beer...

Maybe even some competition stripes? Sonic blue stripes on LPB or white stripes on Dakota red would both be awesome choices.

Looks the same to me. I'm happy to have a go at a Marauder 1 if that would interest you!

I know Ken Calvett (Roadhouse) can make the pickups, I believe it's Bass VI plates lower and Jag plate upper and a Strat trem.

I've always kinda loved this one myself - warts and all!



I don't know the exact history of it. It looks a bit like a Marauder prototype with the stealth pickups and 4-switch plate. But it also seems to be a JM body cut for a 22-fret neck? Also weird that it looks as if the bridge has been moved towards the neck, my guess is that the body could have been a Baritone prototype of some sort in the past.

The Marauder is a beautiful design in almost any color but I prefer the metallics over solids. Especially the LPB. In that, I'm in agreement with Deed_Poll.

Hello all!

So I finally got delivery of the polished stainless control plates for the Marauder projects!

They look good. There's still a tiny bit of steel grain showing, but you can see from this video that they are certainly well polished and very shiny!

I still have to deburr some of the sharper edges, and there is a tiny bit of distortion where some of the holes and countersinks have been drilled (you can see this in the reflections, hence the video) though I presume once they are in place this won't be too noticeable.

I'm working on flattening down a new bit of Rebecca's lovely tort, and you never know, I might make a Marauder guard from it just to test the fit! Early indications are promising.
