Jag version too.
Interesting about the pickup placement, I usually prefer a neck pickup anyway. Will play around with it a bit more. I've probably got enough parts knocking about to do it, I'd only really need the tailpiece and plates I think...

I built a solid body mandolin for my father years ago. It only had a Telecaster neck pickup in it and it really sounded good. You don't need a bridge pickup with such a short scale.

Much happier with this one. Looks a lot more uniform and looks amazing in sunlight, it catches the flecks in there really nicely.

Re: Cedar Jaguar Scratch Build
Took a little while but I finally had a window in my diary so decided to put everything back together.
Got everything back on there and strung it up
Obligatory garden photo in the sunshine
and next to the first one:
I've not wired it back up, I'm going to play it for a few weeks then lacquer it before I go on holiday so it's got curing time while I'm away. I might shave the neck down a bit as its quite a lot thicker than it felt unassembled.
Anyway, I'll update this again when I've got it all done but really liked the look of it so wanted to share.
