Jag version too.

Interesting about the pickup placement, I usually prefer a neck pickup anyway. Will play around with it a bit more. I've probably got enough parts knocking about to do it, I'd only really need the tailpiece and plates I think...

I built a solid body mandolin for my father years ago. It only had a Telecaster neck pickup in it and it really sounded good. You don't need a bridge pickup with such a short scale.

Sanded back the bumps and sprayed a second coat a lot slower and a bit further away and it went A LOT better. Ill upload pictures tomorrow but so happy with it

Much happier with this one. Looks a lot more uniform and looks amazing in sunlight, it catches the flecks in there really nicely.

Took a little while but I finally had a window in my diary so decided to put everything back together.

I've not wired it back up, I'm going to play it for a few weeks then lacquer it before I go on holiday so it's got curing time while I'm away. I might shave the neck down a bit as its quite a lot thicker than it felt unassembled.

Anyway, I'll update this again when I've got it all done but really liked the look of it so wanted to share.
