Bgalizio, I have the schematic done, just need to draw it properly, where you can actually read it :D I'll have it done first thing after work today.
I’m not in a rush. Thank you!

Glad to hear it! All I need to do is re-draw it more legibly, but I was so exhausted yesterday after work, that I passed out when I got home. Haha. I'll have it done in a day or two at the latest.

Any time!

Also, for the always on switch... I've seen a couple different ways of doing it. Some people wire them like I did, to the common leg of the switch (so it can truly be always on, regardless of the switch position), and some wire them the always on output of the switch, to the neck position of the blade switch. I truly don't see an advantage or disadvantage either way, but thought it was interesting to note.

Hi @Shadoweclipse13
Apologies if you've answered this before (I looked), but what software do you use for your excellent schematics ? I've looked at DIYLC but it's lacking in some things like switch types that your schematics seems to have, and Eagle seems OTT for just schematics.

Haha, I may have mentioned it once or twice, but it's basically a scratch-drawn thing in Adobe: Illustrator. I have a very old copy of CS3 that I use. I started off making little graphics for the switches. Once I'd made a few, I saved them as a grouped item (Illustrator uses the term group, as a lock, so you can move around a number of lines or shapes, together as one item), so I have them ready to go. I have a file with all the switches and pickup types that I use, in a quick template kind of way, and then just build it from scratch. Illustrator isn't too bad of a learning curve, but it's got some really cool tools. If you're a student, or know someone who works in a school, you might be able to get a "educator's copy" of some of the Adobe software either free or at a reduced cost.

Hello everybody !
"SY6655321" advised me to post this on this forum/topic, so here am I with my approximative english accent ;)
I don't know NOTHING about wiring (such a shame...!) and my guitar tech knows wood very well, but he's not so good with strange wiring so, I asked for help on OSG, asking if my wiring ideas were possible and if someone could draw me a schematic so I can give it to my guitar tech.
"SY6655321" was very nice (thanks again to him !) and draw me something, based on my wishes. He told me to post it here, so you guys can look at it with all your electronic wisdom ! Would this work ??

Image

It's a jaguar with a single coil sized humbucker on the bridge. what I want is:
1/ use one roller knob as "spin-a-split". (I have it on my main jaguar and I like it)
2/ have the first switch on the lead to use the bridge humbucker in series or in parallel (with itself, not with the other pickup)
3/ have the "series mod" so the lead circuit pickups switches work like a standard jaguar, but when both pickups are in the OFF position, the pickups are instead both ON in series
4/ the switch in the rythm circuit is now a parallel/series switch (when both pickups are ON)
5/ the "strangle circuit" is transfered on the main TONE knob. (there was no switch left, and I don't use the tone knob anyway. but I like the "strangle" effect !)

I know it's alot... !
Thanks again for everybody helping, I really appreciated, and again : special thanks to "SY6655321" !
See you !!

Check with others for confirmation, I could be wrong.

But from what I can tell of that diagram, you have
1: yes
2: yes
3: yes
4: no - and I don't know why you want a series/parallel switch (4) when you already have that functionality in the pickup selector switches (3). What you have there instead is a phase switch for neck pickup, which would be more useful anyway. Besides I don't know how you could get both 3 AND 4.
5: yes I think

(And you have a spare roller knob!) Nice idea.

Thank you very much Shadoweclipse13 !

My mistake about 4/
I wrote "parallel-series" instead of in phase/out-of-phase... :fp:

It looks like this schematic works, I'm really happy. Thank you very much for everybody who looked at it, took time to draw something etc... It's just great, I really appreciate !

To make things easier, I post the SY6655321 schematic again, without my mistake in the text description.

This schematic has been checked by Shadoweclipse13. Thanks to him !

Could someone else have a look ? Thank you !!

Futuron, Gordon, hpr_hpr, and oid:

I received an email request for a schematic with 2 things I'm curious about. The guitar in question will have space for 3 pots, 3-way toggle, and 3 2P3T Mustang slider switches. He was wanting to see about getting series-parallel AND phase on a single Mustang slider. I've been looking for years to cram more function into those 3-way sliders, and can never figure out a way to get everything. I have my doubts, but I was wondering if you guys knew of a way to do that.

The second thing is about phase. The guitar he's building will have 4 pickups, 2 grouped close like a humbucker, 1 in bridge position, 1 in neck. He's wanting a switch for each separate pair to have a phase switch (out of phase humbucker basically) and a phase between the 2 positions. It's never come up for me, but how would 2 or more phase switches interact with each other? If you had 1 group of two close pickups (let's say neck position) out of phase with each other, and flipped the phase switch to be out of phase between the neck and bridge position, would it be back in phase? Have any sound difference? Have any output signal?
