Hi folks,
A friend in the bay area is looking to get his jm set up. It needs a bit of fretwork - any suggestions as to where he should take it?
Thanks!

Theres SF Guitar Works and the repair section of Real Guitars. Real Guitars has Gary Brawer, a popular luthier? I always use Mark from Balboa Guitars, he's down the street from my house, local guy has a little shop and does lessons. If your friend is in the avenues and is on a budget I recommend Mark, but if he wants the best in the city I would go with one of the first two

Re: Recommend a tech in SF?
I like SF Guitarworks a lot. The turnaround time is quick, the communication is excellent and the work is usually top notch. However, it's expensive. I also am not sure if the quality is consistent as it used to be now that the owner has several people working under him.
The last guitar I took there for setup came back with the radius exaggerated. I know that the strings have to follow the radius of the fretboard, but the G and D strings were really freaking high off the neck. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until a few months had gone by, and I had moved out of SF. I'm sure if I had lived closer, they would have adjusted it for me free of charge.
If your friend is not in SF, it may be more convenient to go somewhere out of the city.
