Jazzmaster with Bass VI inclinations
Hi folks,
I put this together to satisfy my desire to have something that vaguely resembles both a Jazzmaster and Bass VI simultaneously.
It's a quirky beast - sounds nothing like a JM of course, but doesn't really sound stratty either, despite the pickups. I'm currently running half-round strings on it, which give a great mellow tone, but I'm considering going heavier and tuning it down to baritone range...maybe C-C or something.
By the way, the pics are not reversed - it's a lefty with a mirrored decal!
Key features include:
Warmoth lightweight ash body (bridge pickup route was done by me afterwards, as they wouldn't do a straight slot).
Musikraft neck, soft V-C profile.
Finish by MJT, Olympic White with light wear scuffing.
Staytrem bridge, trem collet and arm.
Benson 54 Strat pickups (I think, from memory)
Pickup on-off sliders.
Standard Jazzmaster rhythm circuit, except it acts on whichever pickup(s) selected, rather than just neck.
Thanks for looking!

Great build but I'm a bit weirded out by the fact that it looks ike it was photographed in my living room!
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

It's those backwards headstock decals, their downside is that they tend to suck people into parallel universes. Not something I ever want to repeat.Shadoweclipse13 wrote:Alternate dimension? Yes, this was one beautiful guitar. Great job!
