nothing ... even tried wiring the old pickup straight to the jack and it's still buzzing? does it matter that the strings arent on it?

nah, i'm pretty sure a guitar should be functional and safe to plug in without having strings. ;D ;)

i'd say put it back together the way it was with the old pickup - then you'll know if it's a pickup issue. also, you'll have a working guitar instead of a Buzzmaster! 8)

WHY WON'T YOU FUCKING WORK WITHOUT BEING NOISY!!!!!!

Everything is wired up as correctly as I can make out, I fucking hate when easy little jobs like this turn into a massive fucking hassle.
Should be bloody simple... 2 pickups, 1 switch, 1 volume! what could possibly go wrong!
I'm at a loss I have no idea what to do...

is that a black ground wire going to the left-most/closest tab? i'm looking at a seymour duncan diagram for JM and it looks like that is the hot from bridge tab, but it looks kinda like a different switch, too, so... :derp:

its a kinda confusing image...
the white cotton wire is going to ground, the black cotton wire is going to hot tab. the red wire is the hot from the neck pup and the thin black lead is the hot rail hot

If the guitar is buzzing when you put a finger on the pots, jacks or anything else what is connected to the ground it should be a ground-mistake

could you explain what sort of problem this might be? wires round the wrong way, or am I missing something.

here's a thought.
could you post pictures of how you guys would wire it?

Jazzmaster pickup in the neck position, Hot rail (kent armstrong black=hot, green and red soldered together, white and bare togther= ground)
1 volume, jazzy 3-way switch, jack... and obviously a ground wire to the tail piece
