Please tell me about those pickups.

Ah crap, something came up. I'm canceling this build and getting rid of the body... But I plan to keep the pickups and hardware for another stab at this later... This was a FUN body to make, and I can see a lot more coming in the future...

FilterTrons? Excellent. Do you think they would be a good choice for a VI-type instrument?

10 days. I learned on a factory tour that Fender waits even less when they need to speed things up. In my experience, lacquer from a bucket, shot with a spray gun, cures much faster than rattle cans. I could be imagining that, though.

We'll see...
That's another project I started that will be pretty interesting. I may have to take pics of that one too! Neck should be here soon...

Put it this way - there's no reason why you couldn't. My only concern is that, despite being humbuckers, FilterTrons are quite bright pickups. They aren't wound anywhere near as hot as, say, a Gibson humbucker. Certainly not traditionally anyway. It'd depend on how you want your VI to sound - at the end of the day, you're still dealing with magnets picking up vibrations.
Maybe shoot TV Jones an email and ask.

It'd certainly look cool

Updates when stuff arrives!

"I hope strings are long enough for this"
"I don't think that should be much of an issue. I've never heard of that being a problem on the Bass VI, so I don't see it being an issue with this. If there is a problem then I only see it being it being the high E string that isn't quite long enough."

If you're tuning E-E it'll be a Bass VI set. If you want B-B or A-A strings, the Bigsby may be a problem with a 30" scale as my guitar has. I've been learning a lot over the last few days. Think I have decided to go with a Duesenberg Les Trem instead, so I won't buy a set of strings that are two short. I just don't want to run into that as an issue. That will save a few inches on my VM Jazzmaster Baritone.

Holy necropost.
I wish Andrew was still around. He made some really cool builds, that were well received.
I guess, he got too busy after getting married.

I follow him on Instagram, his Hair business seems pretty booming. Good for him!
