I´m working on a template for a Mustang (guitar), the plan is to use a friends CNC machine to make some router templates.
While shopping around for pickguards it seems there are some differences between models (Vintage, MIA/MIM, MIJ, Squire VM etc..)
Anyone now if the same goes for the control plate, or are they all the same?
And does anyone know what the differences between the PG models amount to, where are the problem areas in fitting a PG from a different model?
Thanks in advance, will post the router templates here once it´s done in case anyone else wants to build one. (Let me know if it´s not allowed)

i think the plates are the same or very similar. it's the pickguards that are different

The plates on my CIJ and Bullet had a slightly different shape along the edge of the pickguard. The screw pattern was the same, but the CIJ plate protruded a bit (like 1mm) more into the pickguard.

There are differences from model to model.
The newish ones being put on the Fender offset Mustang series, made in Mexico are a different shape and don't line up with the body.
Whereas, the ones on the New Squier Affinity Mustang are exactly the same as Vintage Mustangs.
CIJ, MIJ have a sharper top bit where it meets the pickguard.
