Thanks. I have since replaced them with Kluson tuners. The open geared ones were too course and stiff.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:08 pmLove it! Gorgeous wood, but I love the tuner style. Very retro.
I have given it a cut and polish since that pic and it has come up quite nice.epizootics wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 9:15 pmYeay!
How come all the cool stuff (both guitars and music!) seems to come out of Melbourne these days?
I really like the final color you got, and the veins come out beautifully.
If I may chime in with a secret tip for finishing necks (and bodies in a natural finish for that concern), you can speed up the process greatly by starting off with shellac before applying your tru-oil. Shellac dries a lot faster, granted your coats are very thin, and if you flatten it out with steel wool every other coat, you'll get a mirror finish within a day or two. You still want tru-oil on top to make the guitar alcohol-resistant.![]()
I have to admit, the surf green is a bit too much for me too.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 07, 2018 11:58 pmSurf green isn't my thing very much, but Cross, that thing is classy as fuck from head to toe!!
I was at Echo Tone today and had a play of this beauty! My man, that is one hell of a fine guitar. The neck feels so nice - super thin and super comfy. And the finish and binding are dreamy.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 3:30 amMelbourne members.
If you wanna try out one of my guitars. My CrossRite is available at Echo Tone on High Street in Thornbury.
