Please show me your black headstock offsets!

Post by MayTheFuzzBeWithYou » Sat Feb 17, 2018 7:54 am

Hey!
As I keep thinking about building an offset custom guitar, and scrolling through your pics of wonderful guitars - I also thought of modding a JMJM that I could have for a good price.

As much as I love matching headstock offsets - when it comes to white ones - I somehow find that the contrast is somehow to little (still beautiful, and way better looking than non matching headstocks, don't get me wrong).

So what about make it a matching headstock in another color? I imagined black would look killer - as Oliver's Jag at DBA, that he used on the Fuzz War Video. But there are surely more!
Feel free to post your pics of (non matching) matching headstocks here! :)

So here is the only Fender I found... sorry for the shitty image quality - but these are all just screenshots from my mobile phone.

Oliver's White over Sunburst Jag with Lipstick Pickups - Rrrrroaaarrrr! what a Jag!
as you can see - directly taken from the DBA Fuzz War Demo Video.

next: Danelectro Dead on 67 in cobalt blue - the one I'm after for quite some time now.
Image

and here in Lime Green - as the contrast headstock to body color is a bit clearer to see. I once had this one in Baritone but sadly sold it.
Image

and last: here's a Musima Guitar (East Germany as far as I know) that I've found on Ebay-Kleinanzeigen.

So what about your Partsmaster/Caster, Customized guitar or off the shelf? I'm thankful for every input I can get on this matter!

Oh, of course!
How could I forget Lee Ranaldo's Jazzblaster and Thurston Moore's Jazzmaster Models?! They do look awesome! Both of them - but I prefer Lee's Blue one.

Hey Kent, do you play in a band in Vienna?

That's sick!!

One day I'd love to buy an already refinished vintage JM and paint it graffiti yellow or something as if it was "ruined" in the '80s :D

^ Nice!

Black pickguard matching the headstrock is mandatory IMNSHO.

Funny, it's a relatively new look to me (even though Gibson have had it going on for decades) but it definitely works.

Loving that blonde with the Bass VI style guard!

I've posted this a lot lately but it fits this thread too so here it is again.
