Tele saddles with a MM bridge?

Post by raphaël » Sun Jan 31, 2016 12:56 pm

Hey,

I have a MM/DS bridge but no saddles.
I'm considering buying Tele saddles, but as I don't know anything about Teles I don't know what to pick

I might like something more steady than the original saddles...
Maybe those one?

Any thoughts?
Thanks!!

I found the gotoh in-tune saddles work well, if you want slotted & improved intonation.

I've got a Squier Duo-Sonic (22.7" scale) and swapped the saddles for compensated Tele saddles, they fitted perfectly, no trouble.

Yes, you *do* want compensated brass saddles. Those Gotohs look great, another option are Wilkinson compensated saddles but they aren't grooved. Be careful, Wilkinson also has saddles you can rotate, but I think they look funny (like a Tele bridge which needs dental braces).

thanks for your replies!!

Is there any difference between the gotohs and the one I've linked beside the shape of the slots?
I guess they will both fit on a MM bridge

For my CV Duo sonic I got compensated saddles from Glendale guitars. First I tried tele saddles from Wilkinson but they are too thick. Read my two last posts in this thread:

Yes, the ones you linked to are not compensated. It's hard to see on that pic, but the Gotohs are. Compensated saddles intonate better:

Argh...I should have wait a little bit more!!!!
I've just bought the one I've linked...mainly because of their cheaper price :fp:

I'll give them a try anyway and keep you updated.
Maybe I'll end up with those Gotohs :D ??!!
