Musicmaster / Toronado bridge dimensions?

Post by fever606 » Thu Jul 23, 2015 4:58 pm

Can someone with a Musicmaster and / or a Toronado hook me up with some dimensions / measurements? Mainly concerned with the distance between the outermost screw holes and overall front-to-back measurement...

Thanks!

The two top screw holes are 2 3/4" apart. The bottom two screw holes are 1 13/16 apart. Front to back is 1 5/8. This is the portion of the bridge that actually lays on the body. Add another approximate 1/2" for the overall length.

Thanks! That sounds like a Musicmaster... hopefully someone comes through with a Toronado for comparison... :freako:

I had a toronado plate fit on a vintage musicmaster/duo-sonic ii once... virtually identical footprint and mounting screw pattern. It literally screwed right on. The only real difference was that toronado is string-through and the vintage duos/MMs were top-load

The Squier Musicmaster 6-saddle bridge strings through the body similarly to the Toronado bridge but the holes for the strings on the two bridges do not line up.

Looking at the two again, the Toro bridge has 2 less mounting holes than the vintage MM/Duo II.

But the Toro bridge holes line up with what's on a vintage MM/Duo II.

I've never used a Squier, but it looks like the same shape. If the holes don't match up, you could easily mark and drill new holes to make the bridge usable. :)

True, and the baseplates are the same shape/size.
