best hum bucker for JM bridge?

Post by kneedriver » Thu Apr 23, 2015 11:21 am

Hey all --

I have a Jazzmaster with two SD Antiquity II pickups in it. sounds killer but i never use the bridge pickup by itself - always in the middle, or on the neck. I thought about getting one of the SD humbucker-for-jazzmaster pickups for the bridge:

http://customshop.seymourduncan.com/hum ... azzmaster/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I want to have the option of hum bucker tone occasionally but would like the tone in the neck pickup and the middle position to be close to the same as it is now as possible.

do you know whether a JB or a Pearly Gates would be better for such a match with the Antiquity II in the neck?

thanks!

Novak WRHB. Both my HB-equipped JM's have them.

^^^ I second that motion! I have the Novak WDHB for JM in my main guitar. I feel like it retains a lot of the jazzmasters inherent qualities with just a bit more ummph. It sounds great clean, but distorted its a monster.
