Hello Guys,
So I've recently got myself a new offset guitar, a 2012 Made in Japan Fender Mustang Kurt Cobain.
Here are some pretty pictures of it:
Now while I absolutely love the finish, playability and sound, there is one thing that is bothering me, noise.
It has a 'typical' case of improper grounding where the guitar will always hum unless you touch anything that is made of metal. (trem, control plate. strings. screws,...)
I have done a lot a search work in this subforum concerning this problem.
One of the suggestions that I tried was putting a guitar string underneath the trem plate and control plate to bridge these two parts, but this did not help at all.
Tried the same thing but by soldering this string to the volume pot, and still no improvement.
Another solution some people suggested was star grounding the whole thing.
I can solder simple things, but without a pictorial and the guarantee that it will actually solve things, I do not dare trying it.
In the local guitar shop the owner said that this is how this guitar was designed, and it cannot be fixed.
So I was wondering, has anyone had similar problems here and would be so kind enough to point me into the right direction?
Thanks!
