Hi! I might trade some guitars and end up with a Road Worn 72 Deluxe tele. I love the way it looks (big fan of Mr. Coxon over here ) but i'm not sure of the humbucker sound. I only use jazzmasters (a 64 and a 76) and I'd like to have something like the neck pickup sound of the jazzy in a humbucker.
Any brand suggestions? I'd really like a vintage kind of thing...

Route for a Jazzmaster pickup?
Other than that... A humbucker, even a low output one, will be quite different than any real Jazzmaster pickup. You'd probably get close if someone makes a humbucker sized single that has magnetic pole pieces. Since it's a Tele, it will to a degree sound like a Tele regardless of pickups anyway. I'd say either embrace it or get a different guitar.

From my own experiments with pickups :
Fralin Twangmaster
which sounds like a single coil pickup and has the size of a regular humbucker
or Lollar Regal
that is a real humbucker with the same size than the vintage Fender ones, and sounds the same (far better, with more definition than the Fender reissues).
If you look for something cheaper, GFS Surf 90s are great
Both do not exactly sound like a Jazzmaster pickup of course, but they should give you what you expect from a single coil pickup (more clarity, twang, definition, etc.).

Re: Jazzmaster soundalike humbucker
+1 for the Lollar Regal.
Does it sound like a jazzmaster? No. Does it sound incredible and unique? Yes, in spades. I have two in my Bilt and absolutely love them, now that I understand them. They are articulate, maintain clear note definition, and can get growly with gain. They do not compress as much as normal humbuckers in any situation. As a result, my technique when using the Regals is different than with my jag or Gibson.
I guess my point is, you have already decided to grab the Tele deluxe. I say go whole hog, load that shit with WRHBs, and enjoy having a guitar that doesn't sound like your others.

I now want one of those Rose pickups, if only I had the guitar for them...
