Do all Mustang/Jazz/Jag bridges fit all Jaguars?
I recently bought a CIJ 1997 Jaguar and need to replace the bridge. I'm still deciding between a proper Jaguar bridge or a Mustang, but right now my concern is compatibility.
I've never heard of any actual issues of one bridge (USA, say), not fitting another guitar (as in a Japanese model). Fender's sites, as well as eBay auctions, however, often specify a certain model or style in particular. Is this just CYA fluff, or does it actually matter? Will any "genuine Fender" Mustang/Jag bridge fit my CIJ?
(I'm old school, btw, so I'm not looking for a Mastery or Staytrem.)
Thanks!

The only thing I can think of to look out for is the radius. Your MIJ is 7.25 and some bridges come with a 9.5 radius such as VM series, squier J Mascis, Blacktop HS, modern player, classic player, american special series. I guess a lot of spare parts are either for MIJ or AVRI which are both 7.25 so shouldn't be an issue for you.
I tried replacing my VMs with a mustang bridge and it didn't feel right to me. I've considered just putting the mustang saddles into the 9.5 bridge but too much hassle to try and I'm happy with the threaded saddles.

If OSG has tort me anything...

That's more or less what I figured. But I totally forgot to even check for a 9.5" radius! I'd been assuming they were all 7.25". Thanks for reminding me not to take that for granted.

Warmoth modified Mustang bridge will fit your CIJ perfectly (I have one on my 97 cij jag). The benefit is you can change or fine tune your radius depending on the guitar and there are no string/saddle spacing issues like on a standard mustang bridge.

Seen these?

Obviously nowhere near the quality of a Staytrem bridge but its the first time I've seen 9.5 radius Mustang bridges at this price. Anyone bought one yet?

Something I've recently noticed when comparing my vintage Jaguar's stock bridge with a new Mustang-re-issue bridge I ordered from Fender is that the legs on the stock bridge are somewhat longer than those on the Mustang bridge. Saddle-height adjustment in the old stock bridge evens things out, but seemingly the folks at Fender expected some less neck-to-body angle on Mustangs than on Jaguars.

Those do look nice... I have VM Jag on the way so I am keeping an eye on these just in case.

Wow! Finally a mustang bridge option for 9.5 radius! Wonder where these came from? Could put a hurt on mastery and stay trem if they are good quality.

Bah! Looks like they made an error and have corrected their listing. It no longer says 9.5 radius
